Touch those witches!

So, some of you may remember the Witch-Touching Game.

They’re releasing a mousepad for it, with a special stylus that you can use to perfect your witch-touching, with a visual guide for those of you too nerdy or out of it to know where to touch…

Also, the bazongas are apparently the integrated wrist-rest, which is just too weird for words.

Humans. Versus. Monkeys.

Filed under: — The Fool @ 9:59 pm

A village in Kenya is reportedly having some problems with monkeys that keep stealing their food and sexually harassing their women. Apparently it’s illegal to shoot the monkeys, but they are too smart to fall for the villagers’ sneaky traps.

The comments thread is also excellent with comments such as “I hope the monkeys win. Humans always win!”

I bet a whole 3 people get the jokes

18 to 88: Your source for Indianapolis Colts news and analysis. I know this might not apply to everyone who reads this, but if you happen to follow the NFL (unlikely) and know your Star Wars (far more likely), this is a riot, except for the Indy crap.

Remember Steelers Nation, this is a Colts blog. They are supposed to be homers. They are stupid from living in Indiana.

I never get tired of this joke

Created via Atari 2600 Label Maker.

Be glad I didn’t make a label for the first home video game I ever played. It was Pole Position. I went with the ’subtle’ ‘irony’ of First Life on the 2600 instead.

It’s like he’s asking why do you people read my comic book or something

9. Tim Seeley, creator and writer of Hack/Slash: Why do you like such shitty comics?

Hey! I liked Watchmen! Sure, I skipped all the pirate stuff, and the book stuff, and kind of just skimmed the ending… But I liked it! So, I don’t think you should be insulting Mr. Alan More like that! I also enjoyed his Batman: Year One miniseries. So there.

I should mention, Hack/Slash is pretty shitty, but this made me chuckle.

Stop me if you heard this one already…

Or, how to make money in a bar. Here’s a riddle you can use to fleece drunks if your local watering hole has a change machine and small round tables.

Imagine a game with a round board, and two players. One player has a stack of white chips, the other a stack of black. Players take turn laying down a chip on the board. The chips can not overlap, and can not hang off the board. The last person to lay a chip down wins.

Assuming black goes first, how can he ensure he wins every time?
Hint 1
Hint 2
Solution

UPDATE: To clarify, the ‘board’ is not a checker board with positions, it’s just a circle that you put chips on.

Stan Lee is making a new animated superhero cartoon for TV, starring…. wait for it…. Paris Hilton.

Hermit, I’m sorry. I’ll help you clean up the mess from your brain exploding right there, as soon as mine finishes leaking out of my ears.

The Fool’s Guide to Internet Flamewars:

Filed under: — The Fool @ 11:07 pm

A statement which might begin an argument in real life:

“I feel that you should wash your socks.”

An insult:

“You resemble feces.”

An ad-hominem:

“You resemble feces and thus cannot be trusted to understand the true beauty of my socks.”

Internet Flamewar:

“The sky was pretty today.”
“No thanks to terrorism!”
“You resemble a Jew.”
“That is an ad-hominem you nazi son of a bitch!”
“GODWIN’S LAW N0000000000BBBBB!”

Hell has officially frozen over

… I’m going to have to look into supporting Dennis Kucinich as a candidate.

Wait, wait, before you go crazy on me… check this out. It takes the candidate’s official platforms, and weighs your own views against theirs, and comes up with the candidate you agree most strongly with.

I would be really interested in seeing how they came up with the platform numbers, but they do show them to you after you take the test. Here’s how my graph went:
Kucinich - 68 (disagree: No Child Left Behind)
Gravel - 55 (No disagreements)
Obama - 33 (disagree: Patriot Act, Border Fence, Iran Sanctions, Same-Sex Marriage)

I would be very interested to see who the rest of you Ziggurati theoretically agree with.

Put your PC to sleep, get a free pizza. Sort of

If—like we do—you compute economic value in terms of pizzas, then a further calculation should make everything clear. If the total cost savings were equally spread across the 9.8 million college students who own a PC but don’t use power management, each one would save $20.85 a year, enough for one gourmet pizza. Simple, huh?

I find this article kind of funny for 4 reasons:

  1. Most students who live on dorm campuses don’t pay their own electricity bill.
  2. In Cleveland, you can just about get two good pizzas for $20, depending on where you go.
  3. 2 pizzas a year, just for using the annoying power saver feature that prevents me from easily discovering if I have an email, calendar, or IM alert that I need to see! Color me unimpressed.
  4. I save a lot more than that by switching 5 light bulbs to CFLs, and I only did that because I hate changing light bulbs.

Flight of the Conchords - The Humans Are Dead

These guys have a show on HBO. I watched a bunch of their stuff this weekend. Some of it is got-damn hilarious.

For instance, I also recommend: Albi, the Racist Dragon.

They also impersonate David Bowie.

Popped the cork a little early?

Seems that the never ending rumors of 4th edition of DnD are finally going to come true. For now, this page seems to indicate that 4th ed will be announced at GenCon this year.
