Rice Boy
I am trying out Google Reader to see if I like it. So far, I have had only moderate success, mostly because I am too lazy to add all the crap to my feed list.
However, I did add the Dresden Kodak blog, and I noticed that in one of the recent posts, he recommended that people check out Rice Boy now that its run had ended.
I read the entire comic archive, and was totally caught up in the story for the entire hour-ish it took me to read. I also highly recommend this webcomic, despite its short length.

Storytime!
Did you guys ever hear that one story about Bruce Schnier, the King of the Crabs, and the Singularity?
Yeah, I thought not.
Also note, the story contains a mention of Cory Doctorow and his Hot-Air Blogger Balloon, which means XKCD is penetrating further into the consciousness of the internet. Excellent.

Hulk strongest there is.
Couple of us saw the new Hulk movie on Saturday. I should point out that I’m on a very short list of people: I didn’t hate the last one. I thought it was okay, not awful, with an overambitious “twist” that it couldn’t quite pull off.
The new one was definitely better. In fact, I’d rate it a solid “good”, and it met all my expectations for a movie about the Hulk.
In particular, I’m delighted about the way they used the opening montage to skip past the entire origin story. We did not need half a movie of pre-Hulk setup (again), so you get the brief synopsis in flashing images: Science happened, and now when he gets angry, he gets huge and green. Everyone knows this anyway.
The sequel setup was transparently obvious and entirely predictable, but it’s a Hulk movie. I don’t think anyone was expecting subtle foreshadowing. A bonus cameo at the end continues to build toward the Avengers movie out in (I think) late 2009.
Overall, it’s probably worth seeing if you like comic book movies. It’s not as good as Iron Man, but it’s pretty solid.

Hold it right there, you LASERJET!
An article in the New York Times technology blog, found via the ever-present Slashdot, details how to get your local network printer DMCA noticed for downloading Iron Man.
Worth a read, if only to see how these people operate.

Eh. It’s an old joke, but it seemed appropriate.
