More Sony gravedancing.

GameSpot reports that the Sony Playstation 3 has now not only lost exclusivity on Assassin’s Creed and Grand Theft Auto 4, but it’s actually getting them after the 360 version.

According to Croal, “For the greater part of this year, PlayStation chief Ken Kutaragi hadn’t finalized the business terms for independent publishers on the PS3,” wrote Croal. “[But] PlayStation’s Japanese headquarters was effectively radio silent, and without Kutaragi’s signoff, the normally independent American and European branches had no authority to reach agreements on the exclusives they believed could be valuable to the PS3 cause.”

So Microsoft moved in and started negotiating on very generous terms.

Is there any major publisher other than Squeenix that’s still PS3 exclusive? And if not, will Squeenix see the writing on the wall?

Summery of this generation’s consoles: Get a Wii if you like Nintendo’s (totally awesome) first party games and its attempt to drive innovation. Get a 360 if you have an HDTV and/or want a sizeable, reasonably diverse game library, including pretty much everything coming out on the PS3. Get a PS3 if you enjoy lighting your money on fire, and/or are demonstrably insane.

I’m really hoping SquareEtc get on board and start bailing out of the PS3… then I’ll never ever need to even think about considering buying one.
