Yeah, airline security has been getting more and more ridiculous, while not actually getting significantly safer. My parents are equally annoyed at the new security measures, despite having been on the exact same flight as the one with the terrorist attempt, but two days earlier. I’ve been frustrated with airline security since the time a couple years ago when they made me remove ALL of my electronics from my backpack.

Yeah, security theater. Good news: a poll done by my local newspaper found that people at the airport generally didn’t care about the attack. Their chief concern about the incident? How long it would make security lines.

If the people stop caring, maybe the 24×7 news crawl will stop caring. If no one cares, the terrorists lose.
